Today, my need for my own trike was reinforced, because my friend picked me up for swimming. And unfortunately Ponds Forge was closed due to rainwater flooding. I just need an activity that I can fit into my own day, that isn't dependent on anyone else. It's about a mile to school, it would be ideal, if I could make it up the hill everyday.

Anyway, it's Friday night, and my mates and I have a bit of a party, at mine. I buy all the food and some drink as a thank you, for giving me lifts etc. They have read through this as well, why cry? I'm happier than I've been in ages.

What a fantastic day I had, I cycled for what seemed like miles, uphill as well. And folk are so genuinely nice to me, and it's not out of duty, or pity, or even because it's their job. I love folk :) First I met Fred from Pedal Ready, whether it was because he was young and stunningly attractive ;) and I'm a slapper. Who knows? But I did get on well with him.

After a nerve wrackin 20 mins, with me waiting in the wrong place. (i was soooo gonna go home) Steve found me, and took me to join the rest, and meet 'The Beast' - a tricycle actually. And I could do it!!! I cycled round a bit, and then Sonia came with me up to the cafe, to meet my mate. Because she was being lovely and meeting me.

That night my legs were on fire. Which i took to be good because it meant the blood was pumping round. Which I have had a bit of a problem with, since my disabling RTA.

The next day was spent glued to my pc, typing begging letters to folk. I so wanted a trike now. Everyone, including myself had gone to a lot of trouble to get me started

Out of the blue, Steve phoned me. 'What you doing in half an hour,' he asked, 'I wanna come and check you out!!' Luckily, I was just in until the kids finished school. He came to my house, I explained that I wanted to be able to get to school on a trike.

'Have you tried one' he asked, urmmmmm No, was the fact. He then followed me up the hill to school, me on my mobility scooter, him on his push bike. I hope I don't look like the normal 'chick' you'd see on a scooter, ie I am below the age of 60, non blue hair.

He asked me to come to Endcliffe Park the following day, with a packed lunch. And he would take a trike there for me to try. Oooooooooh how scarey!!! I didn't sleep a wink all night, I was so excited.
